The first Tizen-based smartphone could be launched soon with Blinkx preparing itself as one of the first companies to support the nascent platform.
Promoted by the Linux Foundation and led by Intel and Samsung, Tizen may emerge as a viable alternative to Android, with the first Tizen-based smartphone made by the Korean giant launching by the end of the year.
The Blinkx app will be available through the forthcoming Tizen store, replicating the look and feel of the recently re-launched blinkx.com to provide users with more than 35 million hours of online video. In addition, the company will also release its API to make it easy for developers to include video into their Tizen apps…
Now all we’re missing is the first Tizen smartphone. Since it has MeeGo’s roots in its DNA, we have high expectations for it… Can’t wait to try it out.
